Motors: what's new

Latest news in the automobile world.

The ultimate roadster arrives

Bugatti launches its first roadster since the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse in 2012 and also the last road-going Bugatti model that will be powered by the W16 engine. The hypercar offers a more rounded silhouette that fully complies with stringent crash regulations even though the Bugatti has no roof. Due to this new design, a highly advanced air intake system had to be created specifically for the W16 Mistral. The soundscape inside is not limited to the visceral signature presence of the W16 engine; it is accompanied by a high-end sound system specially developed to make listening to music a pleasure for the senses. Inside, woven leather is used on newly designed door panels, which have been meticulously produced to the highest quality standards. In a nod to the W16 Mistral’s illustrious forebears, the gear shifter features a tribute to Rembrandt Bugatti’s dancing elephant sculpture.

Back to the future

In 2019, we discovered the first images of the P72, a supercar with retro curves, heralding the rebirth of a legendary car brand founded in Italy by an Argentinian racing driver: Alejandro De Tomaso. Production began in 2024 via HWA – a German company already involved in the production of Apollo Automobili’s Intenza Emozione – with a limited series of just 72 units worldwide, priced at around €750,000. De Tomaso P72 is distinguished by its curvaceous bodywork, inspired by the racing cars of the ‘60s, although based on a new carbon-fiber monocoque. At the center of the chassis is a 5.0L V8 supercharged Ford Coyote engine developing 750 hp with a 6-speed manual transmission. The vehicle’s interior is designed to be luxurious, in keeping with the codes of jewellery. First deliveries of the P72 are scheduled for the end of the year.

The new flagship electric car

British car manufacturer has unveiled his first four-door hyper-GT. A luxury electric vehicle with advanced and active aerodynamic features such as the pioneering active front grille, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler. Emeya has an electronically controlled air suspension system. Its advanced onboard sensors feel the road 1,000 times a second and automatically adjust the vehicle to ensure the smoothest ride. The top specification model for Emeya features Lotus’ high-power dual motor set-up that delivers a top speed of more than 250km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in under 2.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric GTs in the world! The performance is complemented by Lotus’ market-leading charging capabilities, which can add 150km of range with approximately 5 minutes of charge using a 350kW DC fast charger.
