Two architects are designing this eco-responsible charter trimaran around a 240m2 ACCWing for greater comfort and performance.
This revolutionary trimaran project is the brainchild of two French architects. Loïc Goepfert is a naval architect specializing in ocean racing and fast cruising. Today, he works in collaboration with Guillaume Verdier for the Gitana Ultim, 11th Hour Ocean Race, and Magic Carpet Maxi IRC teams. Julien Boucher is currently working with a number of naval tech start-ups (Alloy, ACCWing, Taaroa...) and is also proposing new approaches to conception and design on a number of offshore racing projects, including the Gitana Ultim, alongside Loïc and Guillaume Verdier. With the Awa 78 project, they set new standards by initiating a revolutionary design for the trimaran’s mast. The finesse of the camber adjustments and the 360° rotation of the 240m2 wing ensure that the incidence to the apparent wind is always optimal, allowing the vessel to sail on the power of the wind alone in almost all conditions.
This decarbonized “vegetal propulsion” is part of a drive to reduce CO2 emissions. It’s only a short step from there to solar panels and electric propulsion, making it possible to go down the road to zero emissions. The extreme simplicity of the ACCWing rig’s adjustments means that the boat can be maneuvered with just two crew members! On board, the spacious living area accommodates six large cabins, each with its own en-suite bathroom. Aft, four retractable platforms allow guests to enjoy the sea via a 60m2 beach-club.
This new power-cat rewrites the rules with its bold architecture and a new approach to travel. A self-sufficient, and autonomous electric catamaran for long private expeditions.
The world’s leading manufacturer of luxury sailing and power multihulls has developed this radical new 40M Explorer model, designed to take its owners further off the beaten track. With slimmer, more efficient hulls, it takes much less energy to propel them at speed through the water. By slicing into the water ahead of the yacht, the bows take the sting out of the incoming waves. This makes for a more comfortable guest experience by reducing pitching and lessening the energy needed to propel the yacht.
With Sunreef’s ultralight composite build and a state-of-the-art electric powertrain, this electric boat can cross oceans. The 40M Sunreef has two electric engines, each 540 kW, enabling it to run at a 10-knot cruising speed. With a length of 131.2 feet (40m) and a beam of 36.7 feet (11.20m), the catamaran can accommodate 10 people plus 7 crew members. Sunreef’s proprietary solar skin turns every external surface of the yacht’s hull and superstructure into a power source, generating enough power to run every system on board, from the AC and the icemakers to the Jacuzzi and the audiovisual equipment. On board, you’ll find a huge bathing platform aft, which transforms into a beach club for lounging, a watersports launchpad, or a dive shop. Huge fold-down wings here broaden the platform to run around the corner of the boat. Four large, bright, and luxury guest cabins fill the main deck, while the upper deck is largely devoted to the master’s suite, creating a separate space of serenity.
Originally known as Project ELF, superyacht Arwen is currently under construction at the Dörries Yachts shipyard’s facilities in Bremerhaven, Germany.
Arwen was commissioned to Dörries Yachts, a yacht builder based in Germany, by an American Tech Billionaire. Previously known as Project ELF, the 114-meter superyacht (374’) is announced for launch in 2026, featuring a futuristic exterior design with highly technological features. The naval architecture was designed by the Dutch firm Azure Yacht Design, while the exterior and interior design was entrusted to the US office Píndaros, assisted by French studio Champeau Wilde and British Andy Waugh.
Arwen showcases an amazing infinity pool among other extravagant features. The aft deck pool is 20.1 meters long and is fitted with a glass edge that creates the infinity pool effect! Moreover, a 43-foot section can be hydraulically raised to create extra space on the deck. Inside the superyacht, the layout offers five en suite cabins and a luxe VIP for guests. The lucky owner is given a whole deck, naturally, which is outfitted with a giant 3,100-square-foot suite, a gorgeous en-suite, a dressing room, and a terrace. Other Arwen features include a multi-level spiral staircase, a helipad (with space for an Airbus H135 helicopter), a spa, an indoor and outdoor cinema, an XXL gym, a hairdressing saloon, and a bar.
