Jenny Holzer: Light Line

The American conceptual artist Jenny Holzer is known for her textual installations presented in public areas, which compete in humour and kindness with ignorance and violence. As witnessed by her installation which transformed all six ramps of the Guggenheim in 1989, reimagined today on the occasion of this new exhibition which also features a selection of the artist’s works from the 1970s to the present day.

Miquel Barceló, Oceanographer

The New National Museum of Monaco is staging an exhibition echoing the history of oceanography, so dear to the Principality. Through a selection of about 60 artworks (paintings, ceramics, embroideries, works on paper), it explores the close relationship that contemporary Spanish artist Miquel Barceló has held dear since his early childhood. An invitation to contemplate the beauty of the marine world while becoming fully aware of its fragility.

Calida Rawles: Away with the tides

Between hyper-realism and poetic abstraction, paintings by American artist Calida Rawles are full of significance. Black bodies float in vibrant aquatic worlds in which water becomes a symbol of life, healing and resistance, in the face of injustices suffered by the Afro-American community. The artist’s first solo exhibition in the United States, it offers the chance to discover an artistic universe profoundly committed and totally unique.

Naomi: In fashion

This major exhibition retraces the unequalled career of fashion model Naomi Campbell. Pieces of “haute couture” and ready-to-wear by famous designers, shots by leading photographers, archives and personal objects hitherto unseen are on the programme of this unmissable fashion event. Among the highlights, a spectacular corset inspired by a Thierry Mugler car, and a pair of platform shoes signed Vivienne Westwood.

Chagall

Cubism, Symbolism, Fauvism, Expressionism and Surrealism are all encompassed in the work of Russian artist Marc Chagall (1887-1985). Comprised of about 90 canvases from his entire career, this exhibition is an invitation to (re)discover the world of this undisputed master of colour. Among the masterpieces presented, fans will find The Kite (1926), The Great Circus (1970), Sleeping Woman with Flowers (1972), and The Holy Family (1980).
