What's new

Latest news in the automobile world.

Did someone say supercar?

Pursuing its ultrasuave tradition, the Aston Martin Vanquish 2025 also prides itself on peak performance. As illustrated by its new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine generating 835PS and 1000Nm of torque, chalking up a top speed of 345 km/h, 0 to 96.5 km/h in 3.3 seconds. Despite its ferocity, the Aston Martin Vanquish is also unashamedly sophisticated, a 2-seater work of art. Its light carbon fibre body features a concave front grille while a new platform lengthens the distance between the A-pillar and front wheel, setting the engine further back and bringing the front wheels forward for a more dynamic stance. The distinctive rear has quad exhausts and a screen sliding seamlessly into a panoramic glass roof. 21” alloy wheels come in 3 finishes, and a 6-block pattern adorns new LED headlights. In the ergonomically designed interior with smart Centenary Saddle Tan in many colours and trims, the dashboard amplifies the feeling of space and immersion. The centre console’s intuitive settings are managed by analogue rotary dials and switches, with a Pure Black touchscreen. The infotainment system provides 3D mapping, wireless Apple CarPlay Ultra® giving key vehicle data. The connectivity app handles car/phone interaction, vehicle updates, colour-coded alerts, and the Bowers & Wilkins® audio system has 15 speakers. Sleek, powerful, cool…

McLaren W1 on the horizon

With production limited to 399 models, this awesome supercar vaunts an assertive personality and explosive power. If you need your supercar to excel on road and track, bear in mind that the McLaren W1 was launched on the 50th anniversary of McLaren’s first F1 World Championship win. Activating its Race Mode triggers extreme transformation with aerodynamic components and suspension calibrated for all-out track performance. A new High-Performance Hybrid powertrain with a cutting-edge MHP-8 V8 engine, direct injection to drain every last hp from each drop of fuel, a new E-module delivering a monumental 1,275PS with stunning responsiveness… The fastest accelerating road-legal McLaren attains 0 to 200 km/h in a phenomenal 5.8 seconds. All about power and automotive art, the W1’s ground-up design benefits from shape-shifting aerodynamics to further enhance performance: new Anhedral doors with integrated aero blades, organic surfaces with sharp, aerodynamic devices below. The aero system features the purpose-built McLaren Aerocell and new Active Long Tail, extending backwards 300 mm in race mode and transforming the rear. The wraparound interior prioritising visibility and driver focus also offers McLaren InnoKnit, a flexible, seamlessly integrated, super-light material. Set for launch in October, the McLaren W1 bears a price tag of $2.1 million.
