If you were...
A BUILDING
Benesse House, both a museum and a hotel dreamt up by architect Tadao Ando on the island of Naoshima in Japan. A concept unique worldwide, where nature, art and architecture co-exist.
A ROOM IN A HOUSE
The living-room because it is the heart of the home. A place for living and sharing, where you welcome guests, relax, and enjoy cultivation.I
AN ICONIC DESIGN
Without any hesitation, the Lounge Chair by Charles & Ray Eames with its footrest (1956). An icon that all designers have dreamt of creating.
AN ARCHITECTURAL PERIOD
That of today for its creativity, innovations, and its capacity to evolve while taking environmental constraints into account.
AN ART MOVEMENT
From the Age of Antiquity to the present day! I really love the work of designers Daniel Simon and Syd Mead (futuristic and neo-futuristic movements).
A COLOUR
Blue for its depth.
A MATERIAL
Wood. As the son and grandson of a carpenter and cabinetmaker who graduated from the École Boulle in Paris, it is naturally my favourite material.
A TOWN
Hong Kong where I have lived for 15 years, for its vertical and hyper-concentrated architecture, but also its accessibility, its wonderful nature and its inhabitants. It is an expert blend of Chinese and Western culture.
